It’s been a crazy crazy busy September so far, I was actually going to title this “Wake Me Up When September Ends” (Greenday, you still rock), but it sounded a tad tooo negative for what’s been a brilliant start to our birthday..so I’m very chuffed, just lacking ALOT of sleep and am pretty sure I should have been a majority shareholder at Starbucks.
And what’s the excuse for slacking on the blog posts I hear you ask? Well….Eastern Mystic, my first jewellery label, turns 2 this month (YAY!). We kicked off September with some pretty awesome coverage in the September Issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia and Cosmo Bride, letting the world know about our tres slick new website, preparing for our 3rd show at International Jewellery London, and prepping for our first ever time at London Fashion Week with the very gorgeous gals over at My Flash Trash (if you haven’t heard of it yet, where have you been?!)
For those not in the know, IJL is THE trade show to be at in London, and one which we hold very close to our hearts, as 2 whole years ago, its where I launched my little tribal alter ego, Eastern Mystic and we haven’t looked back…
Each show guarantees a host of amazing designers, a treasure trove of stones and beads (my biggest test is avoiding this part, as I know i’ll be bankrupt before I leave the building), a chance to meet new and existing stockists, and mingle with new and old friends… it doesn’t seem quite right to summarise it all on this blog post, so I’ll be dedicating a post all to our time at IJL this year, with an ickle write up of our fave designers and friends who I think you should definitely be “tweeting” about, ”liking” on facebook and more importantly, buying from! (I promise to work out how to add images to brighten it up a little…I’m a pretty slow learner..)
We were also lucky enough to be invited as VIPs to the much talked about glitzy and glamorous Professional Jeweller Hot 100 party at the uber slick One Mayfair on 6th Sept, having been selected ourselves as a Hot 100 NexGem in 2010 (see how I snuck that in there?!).
Walking into a room full of glamorous outfits rubbing shoulders with even more glamorous outfits, I soon realised that, despite my best (ish) efforts, I was very underdressed, but we had a blast (and alot of vino…) , and probably should have felt worse than I did the following morning, but pretty glad I didnt!
Congrats to the lovely and talented people who made the Hot 100 this year (have to say, I was a bit awestruck walking past Mawi, and too shy to say hello…but she is one jewellery designer we seriously love). Lastly, well done and a huge thanks to everyone who organised it….hope you’ve managed to recover!

Before I head off into the jewellery making abyss for London Fashion Week and completing orders for some great new stockists and my wonderful current ones, thanks for everyone who’s shared links to my site and blog posts and basically for spreading the EMJ love xx
