+ one week and counting.. (30/08/2009 - 13:44:03)
+ Available to buy at Red Direct! (04/08/2009 - 21:04:51)
So after months of preparation, and days of frustration with my printer, late deliveries and last minute adjustments, I think I'm finally ready for IJL next week....have to say its a bit nervewracking, considering i'm exhibiting alongside 9 other designers who were awarded a place on the new KICKSTART initiative sponsored by the BJA and IJL, and these are guys who've studied jewellery and make amazing things from sheets of gold and silver.
It's an honour in a way but also very daunting, as I'm self taught and make my jewellery in a very different way, but its awe-inspiring at the same time and spurs you on to be more creative.
I don't think I realised how important jewellery making has become to me until the last couple of weeks, and have set out all my plans for next year so I'm a bit more organised.....ok well thats probably asking too much, but I can hope ;o)
For our next year's collections, we're going to be exploring more themes around my culture and translating them through modern designs with a little hint of tradition (what's Indian inspired jewellery without a bit of extravagance anyway).
Hoping to start working with 18kt gold alot more, and start to experiment with different techniques, so am looking forward to IJL next week, not only as I get to show off my collections, but find out more about the trends in store for next year and courses I can do alongside my wonderfully hectic city career...actually, i should probably add to that some blogging skills course or something, as I clearly need the help on that side of things...!
We'll be blogging away behind the scenes at IJL from next week, for those attending the show from 6th - 9th Sept, don't forget to visit Eastern Mystic Jewellery at stand K980E (part of KICKSTART), we'd love to see you there...

While I thrive in creating indulgent handmade statement jewellery, I also like to make some of our pieces ideal for those times that call for understated glamour.
Although, I have to admit.....I usually start with a nice, simple design, maybe a pendant on a simple chain, but an hour later, half my stone collection seems to have ended up on it :o)
But these 2 pieces, well, I thought were way too elegant and classic to be overdone, that it had to be left alone....So I'm uber happy that one of my very few "simpler" designs are now available at Red Direct - yay!
I hope you like them too...And for under £100, these Intrigue Onyx earrings and necklace are guaranteed to add some effortless chic to any simple outfit without breaking the bank!
Well I've finally managed to do it.....create my first ever blog...wohoooo!
For our first blog, this probably isn't rivetting stuff...and for those that have clicked in to maybe see sneak previews of our stunning new items, fashion talk and promotions......you're probably thinking "is this all??"....but while I'm busy making our last few pieces for our new colllections, I've managed to create a blog, get set up on Twitter and introduce myself to the world of blogging...yay! OK well, I think I've done pretty well!
In the lead up to our first time at Jewellery London, we're going to be keeping you posted on our news, new items and unleashing my stress and excitement of getting everything together for IJL in Sept....
In the meantime, we would love for you to follow us on the following sites so you can keep up to date with what we're up to
