Eastern Mystic is the creation of British born and self taught designer Sonal Talgeri-Bhaskaran, and launched in January 2009.
Sonal was drawn to making jewellery in 2003 when the pressures of a demanding banking career and the sudden loss of her father unearthed a need for a creative escape.
Initially wanting to revive her interest in music, a chance finding of some beads led to a new found obsession for gemstones and jewellery design.
After spending the last few years teaching herself jewellery techniques and experimenting with various materials, Sonal decided to leave her career with Goldman Sachs in August 2008 to focus on her jewellery collections which capture the essence of her Indian heritage, whilst standing out as prominent design-led statement pieces.
Eastern Mystic Jewellery
The collections invite you to explore India's rich and exotic past, a culture seeped in history, mythology, traditions and exquisite craftsmanship.
Translated into modern and wearable works of art, these handmade adornments unravel fascinating stories of vibrant tribal cultures, captivating deep-rooted customs and bring to life the opulence of the Mughal Era
Each piece is designed and handmade by Sonal using gemstones, Fairtrade Gold Vermeil & Silver or 18 kt Gold, making them truly unique and individual.
A member of the British Jewellers Association, Sonal will be showcasing her new designs as part of the BJA KickStart Initiative at International Jewellery London, Earls Court, London in September 2009.
